The shortest braking distance by a vehicle on ice is 48.132 m (157 ft 11 in) and was achieved by Fulda Reifen, a tire brand of Goodyear Dunlop Tires Germany GmbH (Germany), in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, on 8 January 2013. The record attempt was conducted on the frozen Schwatka Lake near Whitehorse as part of Fulda Challenge. The car was driven by Ferdinand Stuck, a young GT3 driver from Germany. The 30 MPH speed attained by the car just before breaking was confirmed by 2 local constables of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police using a calibrated radar gun.
