The largest anime shop is 8,554.673 m² (92,081 ft² 105 in²) and was achieved by Animate Co., Ltd. (Japan) in Toshima, Tokyo, Japan on 1 March 2024.
The flagship store, "Animate Ikebukuro Main Store," opened in front of Ikebukuro Sunshine City in March 1983 and moved to its current location in November 2012. The grand opening took place on 16 March 2023. To celebrate the first anniversary of the grand opening, they attempted to set a Guinness World Record for the largest anime shop.
